COVID-19 Virus Policy for Miracle of Life Toowoomba
COVID-19 is a virus that can cause acute respiratory disease in humans.
No one is immune from infection. Severity is varied depending on age and underlying health status.
Viral infections can lead to severe pneumonia.
Symptoms of corona include;
cough
sore throat
runny nose
aches and pains
headache
and occasionally diarrhoea

It is very contagious and spread mostly by droplets contaminating surfaces.

Symptoms can be severe and can last for up to three weeks.
The virus can persist in the environment for at least 6 to 24 hours.
There is no vaccine available at present.
Limiting exposure and containment is the best way to manage the virus.
IF YOU DEVELOP FLU LIKE SYMPTOMS
If you are unwell, consult a doctor and get a proper diagnosis. (Viral assay done.)
If you have booked an appointment with me and begin to experiencing flu-like symptoms, or have traveled overseas or been in contact with someone who has returned form overseas Please contact as soon as possible to rebook your appointment.
Remember, while your own symptoms may be mild, you could pass the virus on to someone else who then becomes seriously ill.
My business is 100% based on pregnant women and I will be taking my clients safety very seriously. If you are at all unwell or are caring for a child or other family member who is unwell, even if you have not been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19  (this is relevant for any cold, flu or illness) Please reschedule your appointment. 
PLEASE PRACTICE HAND HYGIENE BOFORE ENTERING THE OFFICE AND SUITE AT MIRACLE OF LIFE TOOWOOMBA
· Liquid soap should be used, and wash for at least 30 seconds.
· Wash before and after eating or drinking.
· Wash after blowing your nose or coughing.
· Wash after going to the toilet.
· Use single-use paper towels and dispose of after use.
· Do not use multi-use cloth hand towels.
· Alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) containing 60-80% alcohol are the most effective.
· There will be alcohol-based hand rub at the reception desk for you and your family  upon entering the premises.
· Rubbing ABHR into your hands should take about 20 seconds.
DURING THIS TIME
I will be wiping down reception counters and consult room surfaces with alcohol-based disinfectants after every appointment.
I will be wiping down door handles, EFTPOS machine, Ultrasound probe after every client.
Toys will be still be available for the children to play with and I will be washing them after every play session for your little ones safely.
I will ask that you do not bring in or eat food or drinks at the office or the consult suite during this time.
I will be practicing the highest level of hand and personal hygiene as per my training for Placenta Encapsulation as I feel that this has the most effective process in cross contamination control.
I will be washing my hands with antibacterial hand wash and using single use paper towel to dry, I will be using Alcohol based hand sanitiser before and after each client and wearing a latex free glove to preform each ultrasound.
On a personal note, I am hoping that Miracle of Life Toowoomba can get through this time with minimal disruption. But I would like to take this time to remind my wonderful clients that I am a mother of 4 school age children and my husband is a Fly In Fly Out shift worker.
If one of my children become ill during this time and my husband is on shift at work I will have no choice but to close for the duration of my Childs/childrens symptoms and reschedule appointments for a later date. This is for the safety of my expecting clients and their families. 
I would also like to take extra precautions for my clients safety at this time and I will be wearing a face mask during your appointments. I last thing I want is to pass on an virus of any kind that I may not be having symptoms for to an expecting mother 
I hope you will all feel safe and know that I am taking every precaution for you when you came in for a keepsake ultrasound appointment with me during this pandemic and the usual winter cold and flu season.
